And affliction is combined with affliction

Thus is made pleasing to the transgressors that which they have been doing

Whatever affliction may visit you is for what you own hands have earned and He pardons much.

But lo, each time We removed Our affliction from them, they would go back on their word.

If affliction befalls you, it is what your own hands have earned, but He pardons a lot.

And (such is man that) when an affliction befalls him, he cries out to Us, reclining and sitting and standing. But no sooner than We have removed his affliction, he passes on as though he had never cried out to Us to remove his affliction. Thus it is that the misdeeds of the transgressors are made fair seeming to them.

Then, when He removes the affliction from you, lo, a party of you assign associates to their Lord,

So that when We seize the affluent among them with affliction, they will begin to implore for help.

who, when they are visited by an affliction, say, 'Surely we belong to God, and to Him we return'

Say 'Call on those you asserted apart from Him they have no power to remove affliction from you, or to transfer it.

Did We have mercy on them, and remove the affliction that is upon them, they would persist in their insolence wandering blindly.

Do men imagine that they will be left (at ease) because they say, We believe, and will not be tested with affliction?
