These are different wars, with different religious factions, different political factions, and different socioeconomic problems.

The two factions gang up with each other.

A defeated host are (all) the factions that are there.

Relations are tenuous as peace talks resume between warring factions.

They are but a host routed out there of the factions.

Indeed, We sent Messengers before thee, among the factions of the ancients,

But they splintered themselves into factions. They will all return to Us.

Yet they divided themselves into factions, each rejoicing in what they had.

And he who believed said O my people! Lo! I fear for you a fate like that of the factions (of old)

The various factions among them differed woe then to those who did wrong they will suffer the punishment of a painful Day.

He who had faith said, O my people! Indeed I fear for you a day like the day of the heathen factions

Then the factions differed concerning Jesus from among them, so woe to those who disbelieved from the scene of a tremendous Day.

We sent (aforetime), to the Thamud, their brother Salih, saying, Serve Allah But behold, they became two factions quarrelling with each other.

To Thamud We sent their brother Salih. He said, Serve none but God. But they divided themselves into two factions contending with one another.

And We sent to Thamud their brother Salih (with the Message) Serve Allah, but all of a sudden they became split into two quarrelling factions.

Then We awakened them that We might show which of the two factions was most precise in calculating what extent they had remained in time.

Do not be like those who, after they had been given clear evidence, split into factions and differed among themselves a terrible punishment awaits such people.

Pharaoh exalted himself in the land, and divided its people into factions. He persecuted a group of them, slaughtering their sons, while sparing their daughters. He was truly a corrupter.

Indeed Pharaoh tyrannized over the land, reducing its people to factions, abasing one group of them, slaughtering their sons, and sparing their women. Indeed, He was one of the agents of corruption.

But it didn't change the Chinese political system, and also the Chinese central government utilized this centralized server structure to strengthen its power to counter the local government and the different factions.

Surely you have nothing to do with those who have made divisions in their religion and become factions. Their matter is with Allah and He will indeed tell them (in time) what they have been doing.

The folk of Noah and the factions after them denied (their messengers) before these, and every nation purposed to seize their messenger and argued falsely, (thinking) thereby to refute the Truth. Then I seized them, and how (awful) was My punishment.

The people of Noah denied before them and the heathen factions who came after them. Every nation attempted to lay hands on their apostle, and disputed erroneously to refute the truth. Then I seized them so how was My retribution?!

The people of Noah had denied before them, and many factions after them. Every nation has intrigued against its apostle and afflicted him, and argued with false arguments to condemn the truth. Then I seized them. How was then My retribution!

Say, He is able to send upon you a punishment from above you or from under your feet, or confound you as hostile factions, and make you taste one another s violence. Look, how We paraphrase the signs variously so that they may understand!

Say, He is Able to send upon you an affliction, from above you, or from under your feet. Or He can divide you into factions, and make you taste the violence of one another. Note how We explain the revelations, so that they may understand.

Those to whom We gave the Scripture rejoice in what was revealed to you, while some factions reject parts of it. Say, I am commanded to worship God, and to never associate anything with Him. To Him I invite, and to Him is my return.

Say thou He is Able to stir up torment on you from above you or from beneath your feet or to confound you by factions and make you taste the violence of one anot her. Behold! how variously We propound the signs that haply they may understand.

How should I fear that which ye set up beside Him, when ye fear not to set up beside Allah that for which He hath revealed unto you no warrant? Which of the two factions hath more right to safety? (Answer me that) if ye have knowledge.

Those to whom We have given the Book rejoice in what is sent down to you, while some factions reject a part of it. Say 'I am commanded to worship Allah and to associate none with Him. To Him I supplicate, and to Him I turn'
