The RNA people would talk about the RNA world.

Hang on. A hairpin worth 9 million?

So it can be an RNA, it could be DNA, it could be single stranded RNA, double stranded RNA.

And I'll introduce RNA.

So its RNA to DNA.

This RNA will essentially go and do what the cell's own RNA would have done.

It was pretty obvious that it provided the information to an RNA molecule, and then how do you go from RNA to protein?

So if they have RNA, this RNA can immediately start being used to essentially let's say this is the nucleus of the cell.

For example, we can inhibit genes now with RNA interference.

And we knew, basically, DNA provides the information for RNA.

So, for example, if this is the DNA strand, then an RNA, an mRNA, in a messenger RNA strand, will be built complementary to this.

That these RNA molecules then find themselves back in these capsids.

DNA to RNA to protein process will code their actual proteins.

DNA, and they have these other things called tRNA or transfer RNA.

And the reverse transcriptase takes their RNA and codes it into DNA.

You can go out and get your proteins, your RNA, your DNA, whatever.

Either as single or double stranded RNA or single or double stranded DNA.

For about three years we just I tried to solve the structure of RNA.

The only difference between RNA, instead of a thymine, it has something called a uracil.

So normally, the cell, this a normal working cell, the RNA exits the nucleus, it goes to the ribosomes, and then you have the RNA in conjunction with the tRNA and it produces these proteins.

I don't have time to explain it, but it has to do with DNA and RNA.

And inside they have some genetic material, which might be DNA or it might be RNA.

And these viral infections are just battles between different forms of DNA and RNA and whatnot.

RNA interference only a few years ago, and this is a really fundamental component of how cells work.

In biology and chemistry, self assembly is everywhere, from atomic interactions, cellular replication to DNA, RNA, and protein folding.

like nucleic acids, like RNA and DNA, stay inside, develop, change, divide and do some of the processes that we call life.

We take that tissue, we purify the RNA out of it using some basic technology, and then we put a florescent tag on it.

And so I didn't really get happy until 1960, because then we found out, basically, you know, that there are three forms of RNA.

And actually some of the first proteins it codes for often start killing the DNA and the RNA that might otherwise compete with it.
