A warning to mortals,

as a warner to mortals.

A warning to the mortals.

Mortals are always whispering of the prophecy.

We mortals are but shadows and dust.

Verily thou art mortal, and verily they are mortals.

What are we, poor mortals, against the cruel hand of fate.

And unfortunately, for mortals like you and me, we probably can't understand it very well.

My dear lady, in my experience, Providence is the work of punishment to us mortals.

and they said, 'What, shall we believe two mortals like ourselves, whose people are our servants?'

Of mortals that fall back to gaze on him When he bestrides the lazy pacing clouds

And shrieks like mandrakes torn out of the earth, That living mortals, hearing them, run mad

They said, Are we to believe in two mortals like us, and their people are our slaves?

And they said What! shall we believe in two mortals like ourselves while their people serve us?

'What' they said, 'are we to believe in two mortals like us, whose nation are our worshipers'

They said Shall we put faith in two mortals like ourselves when their people are slaves to us?

They said Ye are but mortals like unto us. The Beneficent hath naught revealed. Ye do but lie!

And of His signs is that He created you of dust then lo, you are mortals, all scattered abroad.

And they said Shall we put faith in two mortals like ourselves, and whose folk are servile unto us?

They said, Should we believe in two mere mortals who are like ourselves and whose people are our slaves?

And one of His signs is that He created you from dust, then lo! you are mortals (who) scatter.

They said You are naught but mortals like ourselves, nor has the Beneficent Allah revealed anything you only lie.

The people said, You are mere mortals like us and the Beneficent God has sent nothing. You are only liars.

They said, You are nothing but mortals like us the Most Gracious has not sent down anything you are nothing but liars.

They said, 'You are naught but mortals like us the All merciful has not sent down anything. You are speaking only lies.'

And in that moment, we weren't our American selves, we weren't our Chinese selves, we were just mortals sitting together in that light that keeps us here.

And say Praise be to Allah Who will show you His portents so that ye shall know them. And thy Lord is not unaware of what ye (mortals) do.

The Messengers whom We sent before you were mere mortals to whom We had sent with miracles and revelations. Ask those who know about the heavenly Books if you do not know about this.

Their messengers replied, We are indeed mortals like yourselves. But God bestows His grace on such of His servants as He chooses. We cannot give you miracles, except by God's leave. In God let true believers put their trust

And Allah's is the Invisible of the heavens and the earth, and unto Him the whole matter will be returned. So worship Him and put thy trust in Him. Lo! thy Lord is not unaware of what ye (mortals) do.

The Messengers replied, We are certainly mere mortals like you, but God bestows His favors on whichever of His servants He wants. We can not bring you authority without the permission of God. The faithful should trust in God alone.

That is because there came to them their apostles with clear arguments, but they said Shall mortals guide us? So they disbelieved and turned back, and Allah does not stand in need (of anything), and Allah is Self sufficient, Praised.

That is because their Messengers came to them with the clear signs, and then they said, 'What, shall mortals be our guides?' Therefore they disbelieved, and turned away and God was in no need of them. And God is All sufficient, All laudable.

That was because their messengers (from Allah) kept coming unto them with clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty), but they said Shall mere mortals guide us? So they disbelieved and turned away, and Allah was independent (of them). Allah is Absolute, Owner of Praise.

Their messengers said unto them We are but mortals like you, but Allah giveth grace unto whom He will of His slaves. It is not ours to bring you a warrant unless by the permission of Allah. In Allah let believers put their trust!

Christ, son of Mary, was no more than a messenger. Many messengers passed away before him. His mother was a virtuous woman and they both ate food like other mortals . See how We make the signs clear to them! See how they turn away!

That was because their messengers came to them with clear signs, but they replied, Shall mortals be our guides? And so they rejected the truth and turned away. God has no need of such people God is self sufficient and worthy of all praise.

This was because their Messengers would come to them with Clear Signs, but they would say Shall mortals (like ourselves) guide us to the Right Way? They rejected the Truth and turned away. Thereupon Allah became unconcerned with them, for Allah is Self Sufficient, Innately Praiseworthy.

This was because their messengers came to them with clear proof (to support their prophethood) and they said, Can mere mortals provide us with guidance? They rejected the Messengers and turned away. God does not need the worship of anyone. He is Self sufficient and Praiseworthy.

Their Messengers said to them, 'We are nothing but mortals, like you but God is gracious unto whomsoever He will of His servants. It is not for us to bring you an authority save by the leave of God and in God let the believers put all their trust.

Their apostles said to them We are nothing but mortals like yourselves, but Allah bestows (His) favors on whom He pleases of His servants, and it is not for us that we should bring you an authority except by Allah's permission and on Allah should the believers rely.

The Messiah, son of Mary, was no more than a Messenger before whom many Messengers have passed away and his mother adhered wholly to truthfulness, and they both ate food (as other mortals do). See how We make Our signs clear to them and see where they are turning away!

Then it was that the lust of the chase would suddenly come upon him, and that his brilliant reasoning power would rise to the level of intuition, until those who were unacquainted with his methods would look askance at him as on a man whose knowledge was not that of other mortals.
