I preached to them aloud, in public.

Where did you say you preached, brother?

He preached to us about the importance of good health.

and preached to them in public, and also addressed them in secret.

I mean, surely these were just people who preached, Life is great, right?

Yet among the people of Moses there was a nation who preached the truth and acted justly.

My people, I do not ask any reward for what I have preached to you. No one can give me my reward except my Creator. Will you then not take heed?

We had guided the Prophets. (Muhammad), follow their guidance and say (to the people), I do not ask any reward for what I have preached to you. It is my duty to awaken the world.

If you turn away from Him (since I have already preached to you the message that I carry), He will replace you with another nation. You cannot harm Him the least. My Lord is the Protector of all things.

O Apostle! preach thou all that hath been sent down unto thee from thy Lord and if thou do it not, thou wilt not have preached His message. Allah shall protect thee from mankind verily Allah shall not guide a disbelieving people.

If then ye turn away, I have surely preached unto you that wherewith I was sent unto you. And my Lord will set up in succession a people other than you, and ye shall not harm Him at all, verily my Lord is over everything a Guardian.

Has not the story reached them of those before them? The people of Nuh (Noah), 'Ad, and Thamud, the people of Ibrahim (Abraham), the dwellers of Madyan (Midian) and the cities overthrown i.e. the people to whom Lout (Lot) preached , to them came their Messengers with clear proofs. So it was not Allah Who wronged them, but they used to wrong themselves.

(It also happened with the earlier Messengers that for long they preached and people paid no heed) until the Messengers despaired of their people, and the people also fancied that they had been told lies (by the Messengers), then suddenly Our help came to the Messengers. And when such an occasion comes We rescue whom We will as for the guilty, Our chastisement cannot be averted from them.
