Somebody solvent?

You're still solvent.

The solvent is water.

Water is our solvent.

So you're still solvent.

So I'm also solvent.

My responsibility is to keep the company solvent.

So in this case, water is the solvent.

Now a separate question is, am I solvent?

Solvent means, am I good for the money?

And a solution has a solvent and the solute.

What we do in this case is we use what's called an extractor.

Extractor hoods are used to filter out gasses from chemical reactions. The air, once cleaned, is pumped outside of the building.

So an extractor is something that takes a bumpy distribution and makes it into a uniform distribution over the key space.

And here HMAC is used both as the PRF for expanding and an extractor for extracting the initial pseudo random key.

This is called a SlFT feature extractor, and it's one of the state of the art methods that are very commonly used.

Now in this type of situation, we call, we call the thing that there's more of, the solvent.

So you would have your solvent line at about here, because if your column dries out it can crack.

We have the solvent flowing from a hypotonic situation to a hypertonic solution, but it's only hypotonic in the solute.

It could be a whole set of molecules, but water in most biological or chemical systems tends to be the most typical solvent.

And so far what you've been collecting in your flask is mostly all just solvent, but how do we actually collect whatever's in the blue band?

Remember that the stationary phase is the silica gel or other material inside the column, and the mobile phase is the solvent that you pour into it.

So essentially the salt, you know, you can just bang it the keyboard a couple of times when you generate it but it just needs to be something that's random initially but then it's fixed forever, and it's fine if the adversary knows what it is and nevertheless the extractor is able to extract the entropy and output a uniformly random string K. In some sense the salt is only there to defend against adversarially bad distributions that might mess up our extractor.

And usually you're talking about the diffusion of water as a solvent and usually it's in the context of a semi permeable membrane, where the actual solute cannot travel through the membrane.

Well, when you pour in the solvent, you want the band to start going down the column and traveling down, and that will only happen if the liquid can flow out the other end.

But water if you flip it the other way if you've used sugar as the solvent, then you could say, we're going from a high concentration of water to a low concentration of water.

Lastly, you'd pour your solvent into the column and make sure that the column is kept wet at all times, because if it runs dry and cracks, it can cause running and mixing of bands.

And in general and this is not always the case if you want to be as general as possible, the solute is whatever you have less of, the solvent is whatever you have more of.

And whatever there is less of, so the more water is the solvent and in that case, that is the in this case, that is the sugar that is considered the solute. this is the solute, so the sugar.

I'm not going to go into a whole discussion of moles and all of that because you may or may not have been exposed to that yet, but just imagine whatever there's more of, that's what we're going to call the solvent.
