Then maketh it to stubble dusky.

And then makes it dark stubble.

Then turneth it to russet stubble.

then turns it into black stubble.

And then makes it black stubble.

Then He rendered them as stubble devoured.

then made it dry dark, flaky stubble,

And then doth make it (but) swarthy stubble.

Thus He made them like stubble cropped by cattle?

So they ceased not to cry, until We made them stubble, silent and still.

If We will, We would make it broken stubble and you would remain wondering,

They did not cease to cry this until We reduced them to stubble, still and silent.

And this they did not stop crying out until We made them stubble, silent, and still.

Verily We We sent upon them one shout, and they became as the stubble of a fold builder.

Then We sent a single blast against them and they became like dry stubble which has been trampled upon.

That is of the tidings of the cities We relate to thee some of them are standing and some stubble.

So the shriek seized them in truth, and We made them as plant stubble. Then away with the wrongdoing people.

That, which We have related to you, is the news of the villages some of them still stand, whereas others are stubble.

For We sent against them a single Mighty Blast, and they became like the dry stubble used by one who pens cattle.

Verily, We sent against them a single Saihah (torment awful cry, etc.), and they became like the dry stubble of a fold builder.

Give them an example about worldly life. It is like the vegetation of the earth that thrives when watered by the rain, which We send down from the sky, and then it all becomes stubble which the wind blows away. God has power over all things.

And propound thou unto them the similitude of the life of the World. It is as water which We send down from the heaven, then there mingleth therewith the vegetation of the earth, and lo! it becometh dry stubble which the winds scatter and Allah is over everything potent.

Set forth to them the similitude of the life of this world It is like the rain which we send down from the skies the earth's vegetation absorbs it, but soon it becomes dry stubble, which the winds do scatter it is (only) Allah who prevails over all things.

Present to them the example of the life of this world so like the water We send down from the skies that mingles with the earth to nourish its vegetation, which then on the morrow turns to stubble and is blown away by the wind. God has power over everything.

(O Prophet), propound to them the parable of the present life it is like the vegetation of the earth which flourished luxuriantly when it mingled with the water that We sent down from the sky, but after that the same vegetation turned into stubble which the winds blew about. Allah alone has the power over all things.

Have you not seen how Allah sends down water from the sky and threaded it as springs in the earth? Then, He brings forth plants of various colors, after which they wither, and you see them turning yellow, and then He makes them into broken stubble. Surely, in this there is a reminder for those of understanding.
