And that's a very sensible question.

Perhaps that's not the right way to start at all.

It's not autobiographical identities.

It is still an identity.

As long as we retain the identity of being the thinker of thoughts and the doer of actions, that itself is unstable.

And I call them horizontal identities, because the peer group is the horizontal experience.

Meaning that it is not permanent it's fleeting, it's limited.

So I find freedom movement history that includes young people so that they can explore these big ideas of identity, your chosen identity, and the imposed identity.

We don't want their collections.

So you have the X axis, where you have N, which is going from one up to infinity.

I m telling you, if you try for a million years it s not going to happen. It cannot happen.

Those are things like ethnicity, frequently nationality, language, often religion.

One draws boundaries.

That will then mollify the negative emotional brain circuit so we can overcome our base desires.

I didn't know the future of Emma's career, and no one knows the future of work, but I do know this

Now I will warn you that this kind of identity is a much more challenging identity than ones that don't pay attention to this.

And my question is, how did we get from there to here?

And it's a transition that's just as much about the identity of the living as it is about remembrance of the dead.
