I think animation would be particularly good as a info activism tool in advocacy in a situation where there's an explosive or sensitive political context where you don't necessarily want to handle things in a literal way or in a head on way when you're dealing with, for example, race or gender sensitivities because you can use animals or objects, for example, in animation rather than real people.

Next problem.

So let me start with genomics.

I mean, I've been working on this for a few years, and I just find the topic still so amazingly engaging and interesting.

You know, we talk a lot at TED, or people talk a lot about inspiration and the importance of that in talks.

It's the place that has all of Gulfport talking.

Even with this grammar, some of the problems that show up in larger grammars is evident.

And to cut a long story short, here's where I came to.

I found a problem, a specific problem that actually found an error with that.

Because when we talk about our genetics and our biology, and modifying and altering and adjusting these things, we're talking about changing ourselves.

But what about this day, this one particular Friday?

If you're still confused, don't worry.

But this is gonna be news now.

Stop changing the subject

Think of another topic.

Part of that is true, there aren't as many prominent women in technology.

Horrible! That's crazy!

This is why we spend our time talking about things like gay marriage and not about genocide or nuclear proliferation or poverty or any other hugely consequential issue.

These are not normally the most cheerful of topics, nor do they generally generate the kind of good news that this conference is about.

I know it's a lot to handle.

So that's sort of the theme big, different and gone.

And so I think that this is actually, of all the problems you're going to hear about at the conference, this is probably one of the very easiest to fix.

You know, I'd always thought of myself as this slightly Odd Man Out.

And it has been a pleasure to meet so many of you.

And of course, lowering child mortality is a matter of utmost importance from humanitarian aspects.

So there's a lot we can do, but who's going to push them to do it?

And so, you need to understand what your worldview is.

So I decided to get engaged, and the first thing that I did was to come back to Ghana and talk with a lot of people and really try to understand what the real issues were.
