Abraham was, certainly, an obedient and upright person. He was not a pagan.

No one should marry a fornicator except a fornicatress or a pagan woman. No one should marry a fornicatress except a fornicator or a pagan man. Such (marriage) is unlawful to the believers.

Have you then considered Al Lat, and Al 'Uzza (two idols of the pagan Arabs).

And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned.

But as the Catholic church's influence grew in Europe, it frowned on the pagan rituals like Samhain.

And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship)

Say, God has spoken the truth, so follow the religion of Abraham the Monotheist he was not a Pagan.

In His place they invoke only females (the pagan deities) and instead of Him they invoke Satan the obstinate rebel

Do they seek the judgement of pagan ignorance? But who is better than Allah in judgement for a people who have certainty?

We sent you, (Muhammad), a revelation that you should follow the tradition of Abraham, the upright one, who was not a pagan.

Is it pagan laws that they wish to be judged by? Who is a better judge than God for men whose faith is firm?

Is it pagan laws that they wish to be judged by? Who is a better judge than Allah for a nation whose belief is firm?

(Muhammad), say, This is my way. I and all my followers invite you to God with proper understanding. God is most Glorious. I am not a pagan.

Abraham was not a Jew or a Christian. He was an upright person who had submitted himself to the will of God. Abraham was not a pagan.

(Muhammad), tell them, My Lord has guided me to the right path, a well established religion and the upright tradition of Abraham who was not a pagan .

A pagan came to him and offered to convert to Judaism if the rabbi could recite the whole of Jewish teaching while he stood on one leg.

Let them not prevent you from following the revelations of God after they are revealed to you. Call (mankind) to your Lord and do not be a pagan.

Do they seek a judgement of the days of pagan ignorance? But who could be a better judge than God for those who are firm in their faith?

(Joseph) prayed O Lord, dearer is prison than what they invite me to. Unless You turn their guiles away from me I shall succumb to their charms and thus become a pagan.

Lest you (pagan Arabs) should say The Book was only sent down to two sects before us (the Jews and the Christians), and for our part, we were in fact unaware of what they studied.

The Jews and the Christians have asked the Muslims to accept their faith to have the right guidance. (Muhammad) tell them, We would rather follow the upright religion of Abraham who was not a pagan .

And thus (it is) that We have sent down the Book to thee. So the People of the Book believe therein, as also do some of these (pagan Arabs) and none but Unbelievers reject our signs.

Now, take away the awful fear, and my sensations at feeling the supernatural hand in mine were very similar, in their strangeness, to those which I experienced on waking up and seeing Queequeg's pagan arm thrown round me.

And they say The Most Beneficent (Allah) has begotten a son (or offspring or children) as the Jews say 'Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah, and the Christians say that He has begotten a son 'Iesa (Christ) , and the pagan Arabs say that He has begotten daughters (angels, etc.) .

Stay in your houses and do not flaunt your finery like the former days of pagan ignorance. Maintain the prayer and pay the zakat, and obey Allah and His Apostle. Indeed Allah desires to repel all impurity from you, O People of the Household, and purify you with a thorough purification.

When the faithless nourished bigotry in their hearts, the bigotry of pagan ignorance, Allah sent down His composure upon His Apostle and the faithful, and made them abide by the word of Godwariness, for they were the worthiest of it and deserved it, and Allah has knowledge of all things.

When the unbelievers fostered a sense of honour in their hearts, a sense of pagan honour, God sent down a sense of tranquility on His Apostle and the believers, and obliged them to an act of self restraint, for they were deserving and worthy of it. God is cognisant of everything.

Except those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds, and remember Allah much, and reply back (in poetry) to the unjust poetry (which the pagan poets utter against the Muslims). And those who do wrong will come to know by what overturning they will be overturned.

Say (O Muhammad SAW) to these idolaters (pagan Arabs) of your folk Follow what has been sent down unto you from your Lord (the Quran and Prophet Muhammad's Sunnah), and follow not any Auliya' (protectors and helpers, etc. who order you to associate partners in worship with Allah), besides Him (Allah). Little do you remember!

Lo! (the mountains) As Safa and Al Marwah are among the indications of Allah. It is therefore no sin for him who is on pilgrimage to the House (of Allah) or visiteth it, to go around them (as the pagan custom is). And he who doeth good of his own accord, (for him) lo! Allah is Responsive, Aware.

Stay in your homes and do not display your finery as pagan women used to do in the olden Days of Ignorance. Establish your prayers, pay the obligatory charity, and obey Allah and His Messenger. O family of the House, Allah only wishes to distance fault from you, and to cleanse you, and to purify you abundantly.
