Anon I shall afflict him with a fearful woe.

Say, Lord, if you will afflict them with punishment,

Allah said 'I shall indeed send it down to you then, I shall afflict whoever among you who disbelieves with a chastisement wherewith I will afflict none in the worlds.'

And those who deny Our signs the punishment will afflict them for their disobedience.

And We sent no prophet unto any township but We did afflict its folk with tribulation and adversity that haply they might grow humble.

And (as for) those who reject Our communications, chastisement shall afflict them because they transgressed.

Toil shall not afflict them in it, nor shall they be ever ejected from it.

But as for those who reject Our revelations, torment will afflict them because of their defiance.

And make mention (O Muhammad) of Our bondman Job, when he cried unto his Lord (saying) Lo! the devil doth afflict me with distress and torment.

O believers, if an ungodly man comes to you with a tiding, make clear, lest you afflict a people unwittingly, and then repent of what you have done.

But as for those who deny Our revelations, torment will afflict them for that they used to disobey.

And if a false imputation from the Shaitan afflict you, seek refuge in Allah surely He is Hearing, Knowing.

So the evil (consequences) of what they did shall afflict them and that which they mocked shall encompass them.

Father, indeed I fear lest a punishment from the Gracious One afflict you, and you become a friend of Satan.

It was said 'Noah! Disembark, with Our peace, and with blessings upon you and upon those who are with you. There are also people whom We shall allow to enjoy themselves for a while, and then a painful chastisement from Us shall afflict them.'

Say Do you await for us but one of two most excellent things? And we await for you that Allah will afflict you with punishment from Himself or by our hands. So wait we too will wait with you.

And beware of discord which does not afflict the wrongdoers among you exclusively and know that God is severe in retribution.

Say thou await ye for us ought save one of the two excellences while for you we wait that Allah shall afflict you with a torment from Himself or at our hands. Await then, we also are with you awaiting.

Say, Are you expecting for us anything other than one of the two excellences? As for us we are expecting that God will afflict you with a punishment from Himself, or at our hands. So wait, we are waiting with you.

Say, Do you await for us except one of the two best things while we await for you that Allah will afflict you with punishment from Himself or at our hands? So wait indeed we, along with you, are waiting.

O my father! I fear lest a Penalty afflict thee from (Allah) Most Gracious, so that thou become to Satan a friend.

But God would not choose to punish them while you are in their midst, nor afflict them when they are seeking forgiveness.

What! shall I take besides Him gods whose intercession, If the Beneficent Allah should desire to afflict me with a harm, shall not avail me aught, nor shall they be able to deliver me?

(Muhammad), say to them, Should God afflict you with torment, or should the Day of Judgment arrive, if what you claim is true, could you then seek help from any one other than God?

And fear the trial that shall not afflict those alone who among you do Wrong and know that verily Allah severe in chastising.

O my father, I fear that a punishment from the Most Gracious will afflict you, and you become an ally of the devil.

Say Nothing will afflict us save what Allah has ordained for us He is our Patron and on Allah let the believers rely.

Noah was told, Get down from the Ark. Your Lord's peace and blessings are upon you and your followers. Your Lord will grant favors to other nations and then afflict them with a painful torment.

Why should we not trust in God when He has shown us the right way? We shall exercise patience against the troubles with which you afflict us. Whoever needs a trustee should trust in God.

Should I worship other gods besides Him? If the Beneficent God was to afflict me with hardship, the intercession of the idols can be of no benefit to me nor could it rescue me from hardship.

He Who settled us in the Home of Permanence, by His grace, where boredom will not touch us, and fatigue will not afflict us.

Say Do you wait for us (anything) except one of the two best things (martyrdom or victory) while we await for you either that Allah will afflict you with a punishment from Himself or at our hands. So wait, we too are waiting with you.

It was said O Nuh! descend with peace from Us and blessings on you and on the people from among those who are with you, and there shall be nations whom We will afford provisions, then a painful punishment from Us shall afflict them.

If ye go not forth He will afflict you with a painful doom, and will choose instead of you a folk other than you. Ye cannot harm Him at all. Allah is Able to do all things.

If you do not march for His cause, He will afflict your with a painful punishment and replace you by another nation and your (destruction) will not harm Him at all. God has power over all things.

Say Can ye await for us aught save one of two good things (death or victory in Allah's way)? while we await for you that Allah will afflict you with a doom from Him or at our hands. Await then! Lo! We are awaiting with you.

So go ye both to him, and say, 'Verily we are messengers sent by thy Lord Send forth, therefore, the Children of Israel with us, and afflict them not with a Sign, indeed, have we come from thy Lord! and peace to all who follow guidance!

And wherefore should we not rely on Allah when He hath surely guided us our ways! And surely we shall bear patiently that with which ye afflict us and in Allah then let the trustful put their trust.

Behold! thy Lord did declare that He would send against them, to the Day of Judgment, those who would afflict them with grievous penalty. Thy Lord is quick in retribution, but He is also Oft forgiving, Most Merciful.

O my father! surely I fear that a punishment from the Beneficent Allah should afflict you so that you should be a friend of the Shaitan.

We put veils over their hearts to prevent them from comprehending it, and We afflict their ears with deafness. When you mention your one and only Lord in your recitation of the Quran, they turn their backs in aversion.

Or did not those who inherited the land after its owners, get enough guidance that if We will, We can afflict them with calamity for their sins? And We set seals upon their hearts so they do not hear.

Who has made us alight in a house abiding for ever out of His grace toil shall not touch us therein, nor shall fatigue therein afflict us.

If you do not migrate, He will afflict you with a painful punishment and bring other people in your stead and you will not be able to harm Him in the least and Allah is Able to do all things.

God said, Noah, go ashore in peace Our blessings upon you and upon the people who are with you and upon some of the descendants of those who are with you. As for the unrighteous We shall grant provision for a time, then a grievous punishment from Us shall afflict them.
